SEA CADETS
At T.S. Carron we currently have 30+ cadets (excluding our junior section) all of whom are aged 12-18.
Through the Sea Cadets boys and girls can develop their confidence and self-esteem. This can be done through unit based sports and activities, team-building, adventure training or on board one of the Sea Cadets' fleet of training vessels. While making friends with other cadets each young person will gain valuable communication and interaction skills that will benefit them in later life. Much of this is achieved by advancing through the ratings from Cadet right up to Petty Officer Cadet.
Sports are a very big part of life in the Sea Cadets with competitions in all kinds of sports, including sailing, rowing, canoeing, swimming and 5-a-side football, to name but a few. These competitions are an excellent way of meeting Cadets from all over the UK.
The Sea Cadets parade on a Monday night and most weeks have various classes/activities on other nights as well. There are also courses at weekends both at Unit and Area level and opportunities to travel to National training centres to enhance qualifications held. |
