PARENTS & SUPPORTERS ASSOCIATION
The main role of the Parents & Supporters Association is to help with raising funds for the unit. They do this through running a variety of events such as campsites for the local Folk Festival, stalls at events such as Feein' Market, bag packs, quiz nights and BBQ's at competitions.
Each year the amount needed varies but as an indication it takes around £12000 per year in order to keep the unit facilities running. Additional fundraising is carried out for specific projects such as the new safety boat which was successfully achieved in March 2009. TS Carron is always grateful for the high level of support it receives from the local community and thanks everyone who has given and continues to give both time and money to help the cadets. Their support is a significant contributor to our continued success.
All parents and guardians of cadets and juniors are automatically members of the P&SA and any support they can provide with the organising and running of unit activities is a massive help to the staff and committee. Committee meetings are typically held on a monthly basis at the unit and all P&SA members have an open invitation to attend.
