Stonehaven Sea Cadets - T.S. Carron

Sea Cadets

SEAMANSHIP

Seamanship, as taught in the SCC starts at a fairly basic level with knot tying, simple splicing and general sea terms. Class 1 seamanship involves more complex ropework and an element of shore-based chartwork. Most, if not all the subjects taught through the Seamanship syllabus is very similar to that required for a shore-based RYA Dayskipper certificate. Seamanship is taught at the unit on Parade evenings, mid week classes or day courses, and is open to all cadets over the age of 12.
